Gregory Scott May, age 62, born in Memphis, TN and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Monday, September 16, 2024 at his residence. He was a firefighter for 47 years including his volunteer time and was currently employed at the Mobile Fire Department where he was Captain of the crew of Engine 7.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Lynn Silvers May of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Paige May (Joey) Stabler of Daphne, AL, Kalli May (Charles) Burger of Stockton, AL and Jarod Scott (Denise) May of Bay Minette, AL; two brothers, Jeff (Tammy) May of Robertsdale, AL and Bruce (Tina) May of Nashville, TN and seven grandchildren, Addison Stabler, Olivia Stabler, Walker Stabler, Trace Stabler, Kaden May, Colton Burger and Wyatt Burger.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Sue Beaty May and his father, Jimmy Winford May.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Chip Starnes, Reverend Charlie Stafford and Chaplain Ed Connick officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at the First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the glioblastomafoundation.org
Pallbearers will be members of the Mobile Fire Department Honor Guard
