George Ross Nickerson

George Ross Nickerson, age 87, born in Gerry, NY and a resident of Angier, NC died Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Oakwood Nursing Home. He was a retired truck driver for Standard Furniture and also a dairy farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Stella “Toni” Nickerson of Angier, NC; four daughters, Theresa Diane Nickerson of Bay Minette, AL, Donna Nickerson Vinson of Stockton, AL, Ethel Nickerson (Windell) Hadley of Perdido, AL and Tanya (James Bentley) Nickerson of Foley, AL; stepchildren, Linda Pleines, Dante Pleines, Daniel Goins, Tony Goins, Daryl Goins and Amber McLeod; twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Renae Nickerson; a son, Stevie Ross Nickerson; his parents, Cecil Willis and Ethel Lucy Salisbury Nickerson; a sister, Patricia James; a granddaughter, Lindsay Kenae Nickerson and two stepsons, Joe Goins and Joe Pleines.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Halls Fork Assembly of God Church with Reverend Windell Hadley officiating.
