Gary Ronald Steger

Gary Ronald Steger, age 77, born in Texarkana, AR and a resident of Gulf Shores, AL died Friday, June 16, 2023 at William F. Green Veterans Home. He was retired from the F.B.I. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam where he was awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation and Combat Infantryman Badge. On May 19, 2014 he was inducted into the OCS Hall of Fame at Fort Benning, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tammy Holmes Steger of Gulf Shores, AL; two daughters, Stephanie (Mike) Dewitt of Marietta, GA and Kimberly (Bob) Jones of Marietta, GA and five grandchildren, Andrew, William, Kathryn, Caleb and Kaitlin.

Burial will be in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
