Floyd Earl Jackson, age 84, born in Brewton, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Englewood Nursing Home in Monroeville. He was a retired Lab Technician for International Paper Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of the Immanuel Episcopal Church since 1972 where he served on the vestry and was a regular member of the Adult Sunday School Class. Floyd enjoyed golfing and was an avid Alabama football fan.
He is survived by his children, Stephen L. (Audrey) Jackson of Monroeville, AL, Matthew B. (Julie) Jackson of Spotsylvania, VA and Rebecca J. (Joshua) Hoops of Sparta, NJ; one sister, Louise Lowell of Pensacola, FL and seven grandchildren, Joshua Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Brennan Hoops, Madison Jackson and Kellen “Rooster” Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Claire Brame Jackson; his parents, William Richard and Susie Ella Lucile Dolihite Jackson and a brother, William E. Jackson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Episcopal Church with Michael Ballard and Albert Kennington officiating.
