Everett Kelly Obituary

Everett Sylvester Kelly
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings of eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 30:31

Everett Sylvester Kelly died peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy illness on June 13, 2023. Everett was born April 26,1941, in Bratt, Florida, to John Ora and Vina Kelly. He was the 14 th out of 15 children. He and his wife Wanda were longtime residents of Bay Minette, Alabama, before relocating to Gautier, Mississippi. In March of this year, Everett and Wanda celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Brown Kelly; his children, Sandy Kelly Davis (Bill) and Mike Kelly (Hope); three grandchildren, Kelly Gabrielle Posadas (Gabe), Sara Kelly, and Nathan Kelly; a brother, Charles Kelly (Eloise); a sister, Clara Franklin; and many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was excited to meet his first great-grandchild John William Posadas arriving later in June.

A hard-working provider for his family, Everett was employed by International Paper Company and retired after 41 years; during that time, he also owned and operated his own business Baldwin Insulation for 15 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his garden, tending his bees, and fishing with family and friends. He was a man of few words who preferred solitude and the comforts of being at home. Everyone who knew him recognized his integrity, faithfulness, and steadfastness displayed through his kind deeds.

A memorial service will be held in Bay Minette, Alabama, in the coming weeks. Should friends and family wish to honor his life, a donation may be made in Everett’s name to The North Escambia Bee Association, 6450 Hwy 95A, Molino, Florida 32577.
