Evelyn Marie (Mosley) Head

Evelyn Mosley Head, age 95, of Stapleton, Alabama, was born in Stapleton and was a lifelong resident of the community. She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. She devoted her life to creating a warm, loving, Christian home for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jerry R. Head (Kim) and Darlene H. Russell (Tim) of Stapleton; her sister, Sylvia Saranthus; her grandsons, Darrin Russell (Jessica), Andrew Head, Anthony Head, Brian J. Russell (Mary Hannah), and Chris Kelly (Gina); and her granddaughter, Jessica Kelly. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Graham Russell and Jepp J. Russell, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Perry M. Head; her parents, Jepp and Lillie Mae Mosley; three brothers; and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Stapleton Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. George Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Stapleton Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Head, Mike Rogers, Don Adcock, Sam Cunningham, Kendall Gordan, and Ernie Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Taylor, Roger Cunningham, Leland Mitchell, Lloyd Northcutt, Jerrell Wilson and Richard Gaines.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Stapleton Methodist Church, P.O. Box 211, Stapleton.
