Ethel Stewart Hadley passed away at her daughters’’ home in Booneville, AL on Sunday, November 22, 2020. She was born in Rabun, AL on May 15, 1931. She retired from Vanity Fair after 44 years in 1993.
She is survived by her daughter, Glennis (John) Smith; daughter-in-law, Judy Hadley; a brother, George (Sandra) Stewart; sisters-in-law, Maxine Stewart, Emogene Stewart and Ellarine Stewart; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Stewart, Brent (Tisa) Hadley and Brandi (Paul) Hadley and great grandchildren, Cameron Morris, Christopher and Colby Stewart, Brittany Majors, Kyle Cook and Magen and Hunter Hadley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Earl Hadley; a son, Jerry Hadley; her parents, George and Lucille Stewart; sister, Dorothy Stewart Simpson and brothers, Eugene, Norman and Clifford Stewart.
Graveside services and burial will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Guy’s Chapel Methodist Cemetery with Reverend Otis Thames officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Smith, Chris Stewart, Christopher Stewart and Colby Stewart.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Community Hospice of Baldwin County Foundation, 1450 N. McKenzie St., Foley, AL 36535. This foundation allows hospice patients and families who are in need receive such items as medications, supplies and home repairs.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Community Hospice, caretakers Susan Coley and Amy Stewart. Words cannot express our love and gratitude for all those who assisted us with her care.
