Ernestine (Rabon) Sims

Ernestine Rabon Sims, age 83, born in Bay Minette, AL and a resident of Rabun died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at her residence. She was a compliance officer at South Trust Bank.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy (Jane) Sims of Orange Beach, AL; one daughter, Sandra (Craig) Smith of Rabun; one brother, Robert Rabon of Rabun; two sisters, Linda (Paul) Bradley of Mobile, AL and Brenda (Allen) Vick of Bay Minette, AL; five grandchildren, Sara (Robby) Averette, Nick (Carlee) Smith, Kristen (Zach) Cook, Jared Sims and Jacob Sims and four great grandchildren, Hayes Cook, Harper Cook, Elise Averette and Vada Averette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sims and her parents, Leon Ernest and Bernice Vada Bryars Rabon.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at New Providence Baptist Church with Reverend Henry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at New Providence Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at New Providence Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Nick Smith, Jared Sims, Jacob Sims, Ken Bradley, Robby Averette and Alonzo Sims.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Wilson Sims, 52700 Rabun Road, Bay Minette, AL or to Gideons International, Baldwin North Camp, P.O. Box 1384, Bay Minette, AL 36507.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers, Linda Stewart and Angie Stewart and the many others who have cared for her over the years.
