Emory Melvin Fleming, age 94, born in Daphne, AL and a former longtime resident of Bay Minette, AL died Monday, November 24, 2025 at his residence in Fairhope. He retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company after 30 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Fleming (Taylor) Rider of Fairhope, AL and Sandra Fleming (Dick) Owen of Spanish Fort, AL; his grandchildren, Amity Rider (Cole) Jones of Fairhope, AL, Jonathan Fleming (Mandi) Rider of Fairhope, AL, Mary-Kate (Matt) Fischer of Spanish Fort, AL and Alexander Emory (Jami-Marie) Owen of Fairhope, AL and great grandchildren, Addison Jones, Caroline Jones, Smith Rider, Kennedy Rider, Mills Fischer, Mae-Murphy Fischer, Amelia Owen, Eloise Owen, Benjamin Owen and Ruthie-James Owen.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Olivia LaVon Fleming; his son, Randall “Randy” Earl Fleming; his parents, Marion Earnie and Clebie Wilson Fleming and two sisters, Adele Hayes and Willia Mae Roberts.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Bay Minette with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at the First Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Rider, Alex Owen, Cole Jones, Matt Fischer, Smith Rider and Randall Dyess. Honorary pallbearers will be the First Methodist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.
