Emmett Philyaw Obituary

Emmett Philyaw, age 66, a native and resident of the Horseneck Community of Bay Minette, AL died Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence. He was worked in maintenance at Flowerwood Nursery.

He is survived by his companion, Doris Porter of Horseneck; his children, Robert S. (Kim) Philyaw of Mobile, AL and Crystal Gayle Helton of Loxley, AL, John Curtis Porter of MS, Robert Porter Loften of Bay Minette, AL and Queena Porter of Fairhope, AL; one brother, Barry Philyaw of Horseneck; one sister, Essie Mae Rayborn of Horseneck; grandchildren, Robert Andrew Philyaw, Sierra Nicole Philyaw, Taia Nicole Porter, Leonard Earl Riley, Jasmine LaShay Riley, Halie Charnece Riley, Kyra Brianna Gayle Helton and Bentley Reed Porter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Ola Mae Sanders Philyaw; a son, Timothy Joe Sprinkle and siblings, Mary Pugh and Jesse Philyaw.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating.
