Elvie Hall Obituary

Elvie Jackson “Tiny” Hall, age 90, born in Stockton, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Saturday, March 13, 2021. He worked in maintenance at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Korea and was retired from the National Guard.

Scarcely has a man been more active, dedicated or impactful on a community, and in the lives of so many. An authentic individual, and a righteous example for countless to follow. Tiny was instrumental in building league baseball structure and longevity throughout Baldwin county. If he wasn’t coaching, he was umpiring. If he wasn’t on the field, he was in the stands. A constant and consistent cigar-chewing figure recognized, appreciated and loved by all. Small by stature, monumental by character.

He was Pap. Not only to his own grandchildren and great grandchildren, but to any who were fortunate enough to orbit his gravity. A selfless actor for the good of the whole, who left this world in a better place than he found it. Husband, father, grandfather, jokester, ‘all-time pitcher’ and light house for anyone struggling to find their way. He lived a life the way it’s supposed to be lived. And he left that life the way it’s supposed to be left—peacefully, in his own home, surrounded by loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Juliana Fail Hall of Bay Minette, AL; two daughters, Kay Hall (Joe Hopkins) Corley of Bay Minette, AL and Alma (Stephanie Holland) Hall of Bay Minette, AL; daughter-in-law, Rose Hall of Bay Minette, AL; seven grandchildren, Les Hall, Will Plato, Clint (Kristen) Corley, Blake (Tiara) Hall, Travis (Christin) Corley, Chris Bowen and Ashley Watkins and fourteen great grandchildren, William, Makayla, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jeffery, Landon, Maddie, Layla, Emory, Jamichael, Jaylen, Huntley, Henley and Kaylani.

He was preceded in death by a son, Skeet Hall; two sisters, Helen Anderson and Elizabeth Fielding and three brothers, G.B. Hall, Gene Hall and Edgar Hall.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Durant Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Henry Cox and Dr. Jim Burnette officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends, Monday, March 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
