Edith H. Cox, age 93, born in Stockton, AL to George Edward and Velma Wasdin Catrett, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her residence in Little River, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Percy B. Cox, Sr.
Mrs. Cox was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a Postmaster in Stockton and Little River post office. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Stockton Art Club. She was a pianist at Mamie’s Chapel for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Percy “Bud” (Leslie Taylor) Cox, Jr. and George Keith (Rhonda Childress) Cox all of Little River, AL; grandchildren, Matthew Taylor Cox of Little River, AL, Candis (Jeff Keesee) Cox of Birmingham, AL, Suzanne Cox (Bruce) White of Repton, AL and Allison Diane Cox of Foley, AL; great grandchildren, Sage and Addison Keesee, Maddie Cox, Bryars and Lane White and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Stockton United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Bryars officiating. Burial will follow at Richerson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Stockton United Methodist Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Mrs. Cox’s nurses, Gloria Johnson and Michelle Robbins.
Pallbearers will be Bruce White, Jeff Keesee, Matthew Cox, Doug Smith, Richard Cox and Marsden Cox.
