Dorothy Myrlene (Jacobs) Bateman

Dorothy Myrlene Jacobs Bateman, age 87, born in Bristol, FL and a resident of Foley, AL died Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Thomas Hospital. She was a retired day care owner.

She is survived by three sons, Reggie Bateman of Bon Secour, AL, Audy Bateman of Bay Minette, AL and Brent (Arlene) Bateman of Slidell, LA; one brother, Vermire Jacobs of Bristol, FL; one sister, Barbara Morgan of Foley, AL; eight grandchildren, Crystal (Heath) Lokey of Scottsboro, AL, Jennifer Bateman of Concord, CA, Blaine Bateman of Slidell, LA, Jessica Bateman of Foley, AL, Dara (Kendall) Baker of Dadeville, AL, Braydan (Savannah) Bateman of Foley, AL, Blake Bateman of Foley, AL and Eric Bateman of Bay Minette, AL and ten great grandchildren, Clay, Layla and Camilla Lokey, Landyn, Blakely Bateman and Bo and Maylon Barker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Bateman; her siblings, Allen Jacobs, Theo Jacobs, Ronnie Jacobs, Cathy Mayo, Faye Moore, Zorse Sumner, and Annette Johnson

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol, FL with Reverend Kent Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol, FL.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at Lake Mystic Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Johnson, Zach Collins, Braydan Bateman, Blake Bateman, Blaine Bateman and Heath Lokey. Honorary pallbearers will be George O’Bryan, Ricky O’Bryan, Benny Jacobs, Tony Moore
