Dorothy Ann "Dot" (Strickland) Bryars

Dorothy Ann “Dot” Strickland Bryars, age 91, born in Millry, AL and a resident of Rabun died Saturday, September 13, 2025 at her residence. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar Sutton of Rabun; her children, Cheryl Diane (James Gregory) Brown of Saraland, AL, Donald Keith (JoAnn) Bryars of Rabun, Robert Steven (Alesia) Bryars of Pine Grove and Neil DeWayne Bryars of Rabun; one brother, Carroll Stickland of Copeland, AL; one sister, Sharon Odom of Millry, AL; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, O.D. Bryars and a son, Oddie Randolph “Randy” Bryars.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Rabun Church of God with Reverend Randall Short officiating. Burial will follow at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Rabun Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Brown, Garrett Hollinghead, Paul Hollinghead, Jeremy Bryars, Gary Cooper and Randy Bryars, Jr.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rabun Church of God, 54362 Rabun Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
