Donnie Lee Hicks, age 76, born in Atmore, AL and a resident of the Rabun Community died Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at his residence. He was a retired plumber for the Baldwin County Board of Education. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hadley Hicks of Rabun; his children, Christy Shawn (Michael) Brown, David O’Ryne (Beth) Hicks all of Rabun and Jack (Jamie) Cox of Perdido, AL; four brothers, Joe (Marie) Hicks of Stapleton, AL, Glen (Diane) Hicks of Phillipsville, Ricky (Sonya) Hicks of Bay Minette, AL and Steve (Mary) Hicks of Perdido, AL; two sisters, Patsy (Donnie) Hicks Minchew of Perdido, AL and Beverly (Jeff) Hicks Caraway of Huxford, AL; grandchildren, Caleb Hicks, Bryant Hicks, Blake Hicks, Justin Hicks, Brittany Byrd, Courtney Homan, Brandon Brown, Jacob Cox and Shaylee Sellers and great grandchildren, Anna-Lee Byrd, Mikey Byrd, Josie Lambert, Averi Hughen, Peyton Homan, Brycen Brown and Addison Brown
He was preceded in death by his parents, William David and Eunice Earlean Thomley Hicks and brothers, J.W. Hicks and Dalton Hicks.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Guy’s Chapel Methodist Church with Reverend Johnny Johnson and Reverend James Peacock officiating. Burial will follow at Guy’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 24, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at Guy’s Chapel Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Hicks, Bryant Hicks, Blake Hicks, Justin Hicks, Jacob Cox and Brandon Brown.
