Donald Ray “Don” Presley, Sr., age 81, born in Lottie, AL and a resident of Perdido, AL died Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at his residence. He was a retired river boat captain for Kimberly Clark. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam and a member of the Perdido Masonic Lodge #752.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Fondren Presley of Perdido, AL; three sons, Phillip Ray (Jamie) Presley of Uriah, AL, Steven Mark (Wanda) Gautney of Perdido, AL and Donald Ray (Shelley) Presley, Jr. of Perdido, AL; his grandchildren, David Ray (Randi) Presley, Kyle Shannon (Torie) Presley, Amanda (Brad) Schwartz, Lauren (Jerry) Tharr, Jennifer (Steve) Pritchette, Matt (Kimmy) Fail, Tyler Presley, Tripp (Carli) Presley and Kyptin Presley and great grandchildren, Parker, Madison, Kimber, Riley, Brayden, Ryker, Vera, Liam, Reagan, Riley, Brooklyn, Cole, Dru IV, Angel and Camden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Cole and Sallie Musette Thomley Presley; a son, David Shannon Presley and three brothers, Franklin Presley, Jimmy Presley and Wayne Presley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart and his granddaughter, Lauren officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Dyas.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Randall Ward, Ryan Hyatt, Tyson Presley, Shane Hadley, Brent Hadley and Canyon Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be Judson Atchison and Rodney Stewart.
