Denise Davis had many honors during her stay here. She was a thoughtful and loving daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, mawmaw and friend. She enjoyed her family and loved the Lord. She was usually with her family, teaching children in church or bible school, throwing birthday parties or in some form of service to others, her longest being her career in the postal service where she worked in Foley most of her career.
From her children and grandchildren:
We are extremely grateful that she was able to be there when her great grandson was born on July 1, 2022. She was able to hold him, rock him, feed him, give him gifts, and love on him before she left the earth. I know it was all pure joy. While we are all sad his first Christmas was her last one with us, we are so grateful she was there.
We are so thankful for every quilt and blanket she designed and crafted out of love for us. So thankful for how thoughtful she was and that she experienced a good life. She was an amazing mother who loved her daughters and her grandchildren fiercely. We are grateful her grandchildren had such a wonderful childhood with a MawMaw who adored them. Thankful they were able to go visit her, spend time with her, and experience that kind of unconditional love.
We are so thankful for every wonderful Christmas, every thoughtful surprise, every home-cooked meal, every recipe by request, every pie she baked, every batch of monster cookies, divinity and black cookies. We are grateful we had her as our Mom and MawMaw.
May she enjoy her peace in her heavenly home as she reunites with those who have gone before her.
Graveside services and burial will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery with Chaplain Joel Williams officiating.
