Clyde Raymond Wilson, age 82, a native and resident of Stapleton, AL died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his residence. He retired after 36 years as a chemical operator at Monsanto. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patti” Denmark Wilson of Stapleton, AL; his children, Alvin Dale (Alice) Buck of New York, NY, Cliffton Ray (Shelia) Wilson of Stapleton, AL, Pamela Wilson (Loren) Powers of Rosinton, AL, Amanda Bryant (Brandon) Simpson of Stapleton, AL, Autumn Phillips (Chip) Scheler of Wytheville, VA and Sienna Skye Phillips of Stapleton, AL; two brothers, Henry Wilson of Rabun and Jerrel Wilson of Stapleton, AL; three sisters, Irene Melton, Marjorie Blair and Bobbie Byrd all of Stapleton, AL; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Mae Wilson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stapleton Baptist Church with Reverend Allan Lawhorn and Reverend Donald Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Stapleton Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 10, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Stapleton Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Harris, Mark Christensen, James Bass, Brian Wiggins, Shawn Stringer and Larry Wiggins.
