Clayton Eugene Wallace

Clayton Eugene Wallace, age 87, a native and resident of the Crossroads Community of Bay Minette, AL died Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his residence. He retired from Mannor Slacks as a mechanic after 40 years. He was known as a loving husband, good dad, and great PawPaw. He attended the Crossroads Church of God all his life, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years.

Many called him Unc or Coach. He was the coach for the Crossroads Church of God Softball Team for many years, and did they have a team. They were undefeated for several years in the Bay Minette City League. He took the team to play in the State Play Offs, where they were undefeated. He had his rules to play, “You must attend church to play ball.”

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Moorer Wallace of Crossroads; two sons, Rob Wallace of Bay Minette, AL and Donnie (Terri) Wallace of Loxley, AL; daughter-in-law, Brenda Cofer Wallace of Pine Grove; two brothers, Robert E. Wallace of Chickasaw and Roy Wallace of Crossroads; ten grandchildren, Joey (Melissa) Brown, Misty (Dyke) Boeschen, Chuck (Kelli) Wallace, Clay (Hollie) Wallace, Tessie Wallace, Daniel Wallace, Devin Brittany Wallace, Morgan (P.J.) Blake, Logan Wallace and Taylor Wallace; twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Wallace; his parents, Robert L. and Louise Davis Wallace; two sisters, Helen Johnson and Eunice Johnson and two brothers, J.C. Wallace and John Claudis Wallace.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Church of God with Reverend Richie Nobles and Reverend J.P. Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Church of God Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crossroads Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Wallace, James Johnson, Edward Johnson, Greg Wallace, Mike Wallace, Alfred Wallace, Alton Wallace and John Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Johnson and Russell Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Crossroads Church of God Building Fund, 10777 County Road 138, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
