Charles Jackson Woodson, 71, passed away May 9, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama after an unexpected heart attack. He was a resident of Bay Minette, Alabama.  Jack was born August 5, 1950 to Jane Kennedy Woodson and George Wayland Woodson of Bay Minette, Alabama.  After he married Rhonda Davis Woodson of Butler, Alabama they lived in Daphne, Alabama where they raised their sons.

In 1968 Jack graduated from Baldwin County High School.  He later attended James H. Faulkner State Junior College and Livingston University where he studied Business Administration and Economics. Most of his career was spent in the Commercial Construction business with the last 20 years spent building Waffle Houses all over the South. Jack also served on the Board of Directors for Regions Bank for Baldwin County and was a charter member of Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Some of his greatest joys in life were spending time at the beach house, skiing, fishing, hunting with his sons, grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Jack is survived by his sons, Charles Jackson Woodson, Jr (Allison) and William Wayland Woodson (Lauren) as well as seven grandchildren. Known as Pop to his grands, he adored William Davis Woodson, Ella Marie Woodson, Wayland Cade Woodson, MaryAnna Kennedy Woodson, Noah Steven Jackson, Owen Duncan Jackson and William Cooper Jackson. His surviving brothers are Wayland Kennedy Woodson (Jackie), John Sumner Woodson (Melissa), brother-in-law, Robert Dunn Rigsby. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Jane Alyce Woodson Rigsby.

For the last six years Cynthia McLaughlin and Jack were partners.   Her love, support and dedication to Jack during those years and especially during his heart attack will never be forgotten.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The American Heart Society.

Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church in Bay Minette, AL on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 9:00 AM and the service immediately following at 11:00 AM. Followed by a graveside service at Bay Minette Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Kelly, Carl Jones, Miller Pratt, Mike Matthews, Larry Goldman and Pat Strom. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Gipson.
