Obituary
Mr. Charles Morrie Bankester, age 86, born in Mobile, Alabama and a resident of Stapleton, Alabama died Saturday June 18, 2022 at Montrose Bay Health Care. Mr. Bankester was a self employed heavy equipment operator for 30 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Bankester is survived by 2 sons, Charles Michael "Mike" Bankester (Sonya) and Samuel DeWayne Bankester (Patricia) both of Stapleton, Alabama. 4 grandchildren, Jacob Wayne Bankester (Heather), Joseph Bernard Bankester (Shannon), Jody Travis Bankester and Kathryne Ann Bankester Monk (Nicholas). 6 great grandchildren, Tyler Bankester, Allyson Bankester, Benjamin Bankester, Alice Bankester, Julianna Monk and Andrew Monk. One brother Douglas Bankester of Stapleton, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Smith Bankester.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Friday June 24, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Liberty Cemetery in Stapleton with Rev. Jason Hughes officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday June 24, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pall bearers will be Joseph Bankester, Tyler Bankester, Nicholas Monk, Jody Bankester, Chuck Tolbert and Ronnie Douvier.
