Charles Travis Doige, Sr., a resident of Perdido, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at Mobile Infirmary. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on June 12, 1948. He proudly served in the United States Army, including a 1969-70 tour of duty in Vietnam. Throughout his dedicated service, he was awarded the National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Campaign medal; and Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification Badge. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bay Minette Post.
He is survived by his children: Charles Travis Doige, Jr., and his wife Brittani of Ellabell, Georgia, and Amanda Doige of Menlo, Georgia; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Doige of Danville, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Russell and Hazel Swafford; three brothers: Russell, Edward, and Roger; three sisters: Ann Dalton; Gayle Plott; and Louise Doige.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Norris Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Graveside services and burial with military honors will follow at Perdido Baptist Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
