Carter O’Neal Bridges II, beloved son, brother and cherished friend, age 34, of Bay Minette, Alabama, died July 4, 2023. He was born the son of Carter O’Neal (Neal) and Judy Peacock Bridges on March 3, 1989. Carter was a graduate of the Baldwin County High School Class of 2007. His classmates remember him fondly as an athlete, scholar, and friend. Carter studied Chemical Engineering at Auburn University and the University of South Alabama. As an adult, he was a skilled craftsman who worked most recently for Kerby Custom Renovations, Bayside Restoration LLC, and Big Fish Roofs and Restoration. Carter’s most recent aspiration was to have his own tile and restoration company and did many side jobs and worked as a handyman in home renovation and construction in order to establish his business.
Carter enjoyed music, concerts, movies, trivia, and spontaneous adventures. He was always up for a good time. He loved animals, especially dogs. Carter lived fearlessly and to the fullest. He was known for being the kind of person who could make anyone feel welcome and loved. He had a way of making everyone feel special. Because of this characteristic, he will be deeply missed by his family, friends and acquaintances.
Carter had a charismatic personality. He was someone who could connect with people from all walks of life. He always knew how to make people laugh and frequently joked with those around him. He had a gift for lighting up a room with his smile and easygoing way. Most importantly, Carter is remembered for encouraging and motivating others to be true to themselves.
He is survived by his parents, his sister Elizabeth (John) Byrd, and his niece, as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles Robert and Maudean Peacock, and his paternal grandparents, Hilliard O’Neal and Carolyn Bridges.
There will be a visitation service for those wishing to pay respects to the family on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette, AL, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
