Carman Arlene Powell McDonald, age 70, a native and resident of Bay Minette, AL died Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Mobile Infirmary. She was a retired beautician.
She is survived by her children, Tammy (Johnny) Davis of White House Fork and Thomas “Pnut” (Deanna) Cooper of Rabun; two brothers, Johnny Powell and Donnie Powell; three sisters, Debbie McCaffrey of MS, Gina Plumlee of OK and Diane Rika of LA; her grandchildren, Hali (Evan) Hadley, Shana (Jamie) Hall, Mercedes Cooper, Austin (Caitlyn) Hadley, Riley (Cody) Byrd, Drew Davis and Tyler (Caitlin) Davis; great grandchildren, Chloe Hadley, Conner Hadley, Cam Joiner, Cadyn Joiner, Madison Morris, Dawson Morris, Chevy Morris, Halle Davis, John Henry Davis, M.J. Morris, Cody Howell and Watson Elic Hadley; great great granddaughter, Hensley Ray Thompson and her good friend, Carl Raley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond “Ray” McDonald; her parents, John O. and Maudie Smith Powell and a sister, Jackie Howell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Otis Thames officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Scott Rhinehart, Matt Cooper, Cam Joiner, Conner Hadley, Johnny Powell and Donnie Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Gibbs and Danny Fox.
