Carl Amos Holland went to be with the Lord, and his precious Betty on Friday, August 5,2022 at Robertsdale Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was 91 years old. Born in Glouster, Ohio on October 7, 1930 one of ten children. He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. While stationed in Key West, FL he met and married his beautiful and loving wife Elizabeth Conant. After being honorably discharged, he and Betty moved to Ohio where they started a family and he started a career with Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. Hired as a fireman's helper in the Newark, Ohio plant, his natural abilities in maintenance, problem solving, and leadership led to his promotion as the head of maintenance in 1973 at the Bay Minette, AL plant where he retired after 32 years. He loved farming, coon hunting, fishing, and shrimping. He and Betty RV’d most of the lower 48, were avid square dancers and members of the Belles and Beaus square dance club. He also enjoyed playing music with his buddies every chance he got.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Elizabeth “Betty” Holland; a son Mark Daniel “Dan” Holland; his parents John and Dolores Holland and eight siblings.
He is survived by three children; Joel Terrance (Tammy) Holland, Amy Guenn (Jerry) Hoven, and Jon Eric (Lisa) Holland, brother James Holland, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Josh Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Holland, Austen Holland, Cody Holland, Kasey Feverjean, Mathew Leachman and Clint Hoven.
