Brunette Presley Henderson, affectionately known as “Bett” to those who loved her, was born on August 6, 1940 in Latham, Alabama. On July 2, 2021 Bett received her wings and went to walk among the angels. Receiving her complete healing, she was reunited with her family who preceded her in death. Her mother Rosa Bell Greene, her father, Willie Floyd Presley and her sister Willie Nell Presley. Survived by a family who share in the joy that her life brought them and the pain that her passing brings.
Bett was a devoted housewife who was married to her loving husband, Thomas E. Henderson for 59 years. A beloved mother to her daughter, Lisa Henderson Crone. A mother figure to her son-in-law Bryan A. Crone.
She was an extremely proud grandmother to her three precious grandchildren; Amaya Laveice Crone, Ava Grace Crone, and Ashton Christopher Crone. She was a dear friend and sister to Virginia Ann Thompson and devoted aunt to her nephews and nieces Willie McAuthor Shiver (Kelly), Morna Shiver Tirona (“T”), Stephen Edward Thompson (Julie), and Erica Thompson Davis (Tim).
In true grandmother fashion, she enjoyed every memory and moment of time spent with her grandchildren. She often colored with them, would draw, and played video games with them. The legacy of her love was shown and could always be felt when she served you a plate of her home made banana pudding. It truly was the best! She enjoyed cross word puzzles, calligraphy, watching Westerns on TV and writing stories while reminiscing about the paper dolls she drew and made as a child. She attended Perdido Church of God where she learned to trust God and to persevere through life’s challenges.
The ways she touched the lives of her family and friends will be forever etched in their minds and across their hearts.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Perdido Church of God with Reverend Scott Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Presley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 5, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at Perdido Church of God.
