Betty (Odell) Lindsey

Betty Odell Lindsey, age 95, a native of Newport News, VA and a resident of Bay Minette, AL, passed away at her home Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Betty was a devoted and loving Christian woman, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved Jesus Christ, Jimmy Lindsey, her husband of 51 years, her family and her Church, First Baptist of Bay Minette, AL. She was an encourager, always with a kind and thoughtful word for those she felt needed or would appreciate her positive approach to life.

She is survived by her children, Carol Lindsey and Walt (Jean) Lindsey; four grandchildren, Lydia Satcher (Trevor) Henke, Leah Satcher, Emily Lindsey (Edward) Kane and Sarah Lindsey (Doug) Wilde; seven great grandchildren, John David Whitworth, Owen Kane, Avery Kane, Audrey Faith Kane, Caroline Elizabeth Wilde, Anna Katherine Wilde and John Walt Wilde.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lindsey; her parents, Fitzhugh B. Odell and Elizabeth Carleton Odell and two brothers, John “Jack” Odell and F.B. “Bud” Odell, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Monday, October 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bay Minette. Due to Covid concerns, there will be no visitation and social distancing is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1628, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
