Barry “PeeWee” Philyaw, age 73, born in Atmore, AL and a resident of the Horseneck Community died Monday, May 11, 2020 at his residence. He was a retired fort lift operator for Baldwin Pole and Piling for 35 years.
He is survived by his children, Tracie (Al) Merritt of Gulf Shores, AL, Terry (Colleen) Philyaw of Horseneck, Jennifer Philyaw of Horseneck, Brian O’Neil (Ashley) Philyaw of Foley, AL, Katie Philyaw of Horseneck, Emma (Ward) Ammons of Horseneck, James Philyaw of Horseneck and Lisa (Mike) Bradshaw of Robertsdale, AL; one sister, Essie Mae Rayborn of Hroseneck; fourteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Philyaw; brothers, Jessie Philyaw and Emmett Philyaw and a sister, Mary Pugh.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Full Power Holiness Church with Reverend Joe Welch and Reverend Phil Bryars officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at Full Power Holiness Church.
Pallbearers will be Matt Sprinkle, Johnny Holder, Chip Glenn, Chris Rogers, Gary Wayne Rogers and Gary Wise. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Merritt and Shelton Tyson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Community Holiness Church Building Fund, 19520 Clara Mae Smith Road, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
