Barbara Ann (Peaden) Durant

Barbara Ann Peaden Durant, age 80, born in Panama City, FL and a resident of the Crossroads Community died Monday, May 22, 2023 at Mobile Infirmary. She retired from Regions Bank as the Assistant Branch Manager.

She is survived by one son, Rodney (Shawyne) Durant of Bay Minette, AL; one daughter, JoAnn (Chris) Pegues of Grant, AL; six sisters, Opal Ray, Mary Brookshire, Elizabeth Hammond, Frances Stewart, Cathy Fowler and Betty Lycans; six grandchildren, Lauren (Matt) Mitchell, Kristen (John) Gibson, Elisa (Eric) Cooper, Joseph Rodney (Dakota) Durant, Halee Pegues and Lorelei Durant; four great grandchildren, Rosie Gibson, Samuel Gibson, Henry Cooper and George Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph C. Durant, Jr. and four brothers, Leslie Peaden, Paul Peaden, Floyd Peaden and Sam Peaden.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Durant Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Henry Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Durant Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 26, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Durant Chapel Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Matt Mitchell, John Gibson, Eric Cooper, Joseph Durant, Steve Smallwood and Wade Durant. Honorary pallbearer will be Marvin Barlow.
