Almus Franklin “Bud” Goins, age 93, born in Honoraville, AL and a resident of Pine Grove died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his sons residence. He was a retired sheet metal welder for Coast Corporation in Mobile, AL and a 66 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 441. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II aboard the AO-98 USS Caloosahatchee.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hollinghead of Pine Grove; one son, Terry (Tonya) Goins of Pine Grove; step-daughter, Betty (Jeff) Munn of Fairhope, AL; sisters, Wilma Lynam of Atlanta, GA and Callie Mae Hickman of Greenville, AL; two granddaughters, Tiffany Sowell of Bay Minette, AL and Teri Jacobs of United Arab Emeritus; four great grandsons, Michael (Ashley) Rollin of Mobile, AL, Trevor Caprara of Bay Minette, AL, Tommy Lee Vernon, II of Pensacola, FL and Colton Rider of Cantonment, FL and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Eunice Dove Goins; infant daughter, Tressa Carol Goins; his second wife, Evelyn Stewart Goins; his parents, Marcus Norman Goins and Velma Marler Goins; three brothers and eight sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend J.P. Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rollin, Colton Rider, Trevor Caprara, Norris Hall, Jimmy Rowell and Anthony McDonald.
