Adelene (Cumbie) Flowers

Adelene Cumbie Flowers, age 96, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Atmore, AL to Charlie David and Mary Ella Cumbie. She was the accounting clerk at Brookley Air Force Base and Pensacola Naval Base and retired after 25 years. After retiring she volunteered for North Baldwin Infirmary for over 30 years. She received the first Liz Duryea Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. She also volunteered at North Baldwin Chamber.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Jean Ferguson of Bay Minette, AL; grandson, Eddie (Marti) Ferguson; granddaughter, April (Clint) Harrison and five great grandchildren, Mallory Harrison, Jospeh Ferguson, Macy Harrison, Olivia Ferguson and Victoria Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years W.D. “Chicken” Flowers; a son, Timothy Manning Flowers; three brothers; one sister; a newborn and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Elder Michael Johnson and Elder Gene Freeland officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Ferguson, Eddie Waters, Cole Waters, Stan Cumbie, Zack Cumbie and Stephen Ross.
