John Thomas Blair, Sr.

John Thomas Blair, Sr. (J.T. to family and friends) born May 6, 1928 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019. He was a faithful and loving son, husband, dad (and dad-in-law) and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Stapleton Baptist Church for approximately 64 years where he served as Deacon (Chairman many of these years), youth leader, Sunday School teacher and loving supporter of the called ministerial staff. He served as vice moderator, trustee and several committees of the Baldwin Baptist Association. He retired from Mobile County Board of Health in 1990 after 25 years as Data Processing Manager. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Korea. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, James C. and Massie V. Blair; a brother, W.C. Blair; a sister, Bertha B. Stacey and a daughter-in-law, Mary Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. Blair of Stapleton, AL; three sons, John T. (Ladda) Blair, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Terrel R. (Brenda) Blair, Sr. of Fairhope, AL and Michael G. (Diana) Blair of Mobile, AL; one daughter, Linda J. (Paul) Davis of Belleville, IL; one sister, Marilyn F. Mosley of Stapleton, AL; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stapleton Baptist Church with Reverend Alan Lawhorn, Reverend Terrel Blair and Reverend Mike Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at Stapleton Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Justin Blair, Patrick Blair, Ray Blair, Brandon Simpson, Hugh Harris and Barrett Wiggins.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the Alabama Baptist Childrens Home, P.O. Box 361767, Birmingham, AL 35236 in the name of our beloved husband, father and grandfather.
