Edna (Harrelson) Cooley

Edna Harrelson Cooley, age 81, born in Andalusia, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at her residence. She was the owner and operator (retired) of the Southern Host Inn.

She is survived by two brothers, Lowell (Maria-Heidy) Harrelson of Mobile, AL and Harrell (Sandra) Harrelson of Bay Minette, AL; three sisters, Jean (Dolan) Johnson of Crossroads, Sharon (Allen) Propst 0f Bay Minette, AL and Helen Peevy of Bay Minette, AL and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Wilburn and Luzine Mitchell Harrelson; her husband, James R. “Jim” Cooley and a brother, Bobby Harrelson.

Graveside services and burial will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the North Baldwin Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 190, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
