Clarence Eugene "Gene" Roland

Clarence Eugene “Gene” Roland, age 75, born in Pineville, FL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his residence. He was a retired Machine Operator at International Paper Company and worked in maintenance at William F. Green State Veterans Home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Sandral Jean Dykes Roland of Bay Minette, AL; three daughters, Amy (Tim) Vernor of Daphne, AL, Gena Roland of Gulf Shores, AL and Kimmi Patrick of Robertsdale, AL; two sons, Ron (Michelle) Patrick of Torrington, WY and Cully Patrick of Lincoln, NE; one brother, Bobby (Connie) Roland of Bay Minette, AL; two sisters, Naomi (Leo) Travis of Lucedale, MS and Linda (John) Proffitt of Cussetta, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Jodi, Kevin, Joshua, Kara, Kennedy, Brett, Brittany, Lena, Karlton, Ashley, Chase, Gage and David and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elvin, Billy, Alvin and Jimmy.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. in Spanish Fort.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 20, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Sellers, Brett Remos, Merritt Nicholas, Cully Patrick, Ron Patrick and Tim Vernor. Honorary pallbearers will be David Maye, Marty Kinnard, Kent Rojillio, Jerry Harville, David Norsworthy and Olin Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to William F. State Veterans Home, 300 Faulkner Drive, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
