Alexandria King Burks Byrd, age 67, born in Mobile, AL and a resident of Stapleton, AL died Thursday, April 18, 2019. She was a retired school bus driver after 20 years with the Baldwin County Board of Education.
She is survived by her husband, Vermon J. Byrd of Stapleton, AL; three sons, Timothy Shane (Christy) Byrd of Hartsville, TN, Jimmy Franklin (Jena) Byrd of Stapleton, AL and Vermon Julius (Misty) Byrd, II of Stapleton, AL; three brothers, Woodrow Agustus “Woodie” Burks of Mobile, AL, Ronald Lynn Vaughn of Mobile, AL and Roy Leon “Stoney” Burks, II of Greenhill, AL; grandchildren, Britney, Christian, Sabarina, Jimmy, Scott, Cortney, Vermon, III, Jarett and Hannah; great grandchildren, Brylee, Piper, Brylin and Parker and her nieces and nephews, Lydia, Brenda, Robbie and David.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Holston; her father, Hurbert Woodrow King and a sister, Debra Ileen Vaughn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Lewis and Reveredn Gwyn Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Vermon Byrd, II, Jimmy Byrd, Jr., Scott Byrd, Robbie Burks, V.J. Byrd, David Burks, Dustin Harden, Nick Storey and Seth Penhollow.
